General Terms

  • All of the following terms and conditions are correct as of 13/03/2025, and supersede any previous versions. Previous versions of the Ts & Cs can be made available upon request. Training with Pentagon Krav Maga will be considered as tacit acceptance of these terms.

  • Krav Maga training is potentially dangerous, and all activities undertaken with Pentagon Krav Maga are at the student's own risk.

  • As with all martial arts - and despite the best endeavours of Pentagon Krav Maga - the physical, high-contact nature of Krav Maga training carries an unavoidable moderate risk of minor injury (cuts, bruises, strains & sprains, etc). More severe injuries (broken bones, head injury, etc) are unlikely, but not impossible. There is also an emotional risk as some of the exercises performed will occasionally seek to induce physical and psychological stress in order to enhance realism and the overall training effect. These include, amongst other elements, offensive language and other displays of aggressive behaviour. By training with Pentagon Krav Maga, the student acknowledges and accepts these risks.

  • The instructor is responsible for the safety of the class, and reserves the right to dismiss a student from the class at any time, without refunds, should the student be deemed a danger to themselves or others. Whether a student is welcomed back to the class following such an event is entirely at the instructor's discretion. The instructor also retains complete discretion over whether or not to refuse an individual from participating in training, if it is felt that they present an unacceptable safety risk to the rest of the class.

  • The student will complete a medical declaration before starting training with Pentagon Krav Maga. Furthermore, the student is responsible for alerting the instructor to any new injuries or medical conditions that may affect their safety-in-training before the class starts.

  • Due to the risks inherent in Krav Maga training, Pentagon Krav Maga strongly advises against training while pregnant, and will not accept any liability for problems that may arise from ignoring this recommendation.

  • The student must have no unspent criminal convictions for violence.

  • As stipulated by the IKMF (International Krav Maga Federation), the student must not be an enemy of the State of Israel. This includes but is not limited to membership of organisations that do not acknowledge Israel's unconditional right to exist, or seek to delegitimise the State of Israel.

  • The student is required use both a mouth guard and groin guard in training. Pentagon Krav Maga offers both - of reputable brand - for sale upon request. Pentagon Krav Maga accepts no liability for any harm resulting from the student’s failure to use the minimum required protective equipment.

  • Pentagon Krav Maga will provide all other required pads, gloves, etc, though students are welcome to bring their own equipment if they wish. It is recommended for hygiene reasons that students at least acquire their own gloves, the open-fingered MMA-style being preferred. Pentagon Krav Maga will not be held liable for any harm that may arise from the use of equipment not provided by Pentagon Krav Maga.

  • The student will register for membership of the International Krav Maga Federation (IKMF) via kravmaga-ikmf.co.uk once they have started training with Pentagon Krav Maga. This is required to insure the student against personal and third-party injury, as well as for gradings and other events. The student will not be insured until they join the IKMF. IKMF membership is not managed by or the responsibility of Pentagon Krav Maga in any way, and Pentagon Krav Maga will not be held liable for any losses resulting from a student failing to register with the IKMF. The price for IKMF membership is currently £35 per annum. Note that insurance cover for dental injury is contingent on mouth guards being used.

  • Membership of Pentagon Krav Maga is non-exclusive; that is to say, students are free to train at other Krav Maga / martial arts clubs if they wish (subject to any restrictions at these third-party clubs).

  • Copies of the instructor’s credentials, including teaching qualifications, e-DBS, first-aid, and insurance certificates, can be provided upon request.

Membership Terms

  • Classes with Pentagon Krav Maga are paid for monthly on a membership subscription basis.

    • Standard - Adults (one class a week):   £55 per month

    • Standard - Juniors:                                             £40 per month (from April 1st 2025)

    • Unlimited - Adults: £75 per month.
Two adults living in the same household may train according to the Standard adult’s rate (and terms) for this price also, upon discussion with the Head Instructor.

    • In special circumstances, students may be permitted to train on a 'pay as you go' (PAYG) basis at £17 per session, upon discussion with the Head Instructor.

    • Current and returning students on the Standard membership tier will be granted a ‘Legacy’ rate of £50 per month until January 1st 2026. ‘Current’ & ‘Returning’ is defined here as having an active membership subscription, or having had trained with Pentagon Krav Maga at a ‘mainstream’ (i.e. excluding Beginner’s Course sessions) prior to May 1st 2025.

    • Prices above come into effect on May 1st 2025 unless otherwise stated.

  • Members may train at any of Pentagon Krav Maga’s classes, as appropriate to their age:

    • Adult classes are for ages 16+, or…

    • Juniors classes for ages 11 to 15 inclusive (a waiver may be granted for 10-year-olds who are in School Year 6, upon discussion with the Head Instructor). Once a Junior student reaches age 16, they will be immediately moved to the Adult class.

  • Membership subscriptions are due on the 1st of every month, and paid in advance. That is to say, for example, that a payment made on March 1st covers the student’s membership for the month of March. Payments will generally be taken on the 1st to cover the appropriate month, but adjustments to the payment date may be made upon discussion with the Head Instructor.

  • Students who commence their subscription in the middle of the month will have the first month’s membership prorated to the nearest whole week (1 week minimum) - this will be taken as a one-off payment, with the subscription starting as normal the following month.

  • The student may stop and/or resume training with Pentagon Krav Maga at any time without penalty, though any subscriptions paid for the month will not be refunded. Be advised that subscription payments are automatically submitted approximately one week before they are due to be paid out (this is an inherent characteristic of our payment processor, and outside our control), so please make any requests to change a membership promptly to avoid issues with payments for the following month.

  • Subscriptions will run until the student requests cessation or alteration of their membership, or the associated direct debit cancelled, whereupon it will be assumed that the student has ended their membership.

  • Session allowances for ‘Standard’ members renew every 4 weeks - Pentagon Krav Maga assumes a 4-week month, giving 48 training weeks in a year, to allow for periods of instructor unavailability. Members at this subscription tier are at liberty to train multiple times a week as suit their circumstances. For example, if they know they will be away on a certain week, they can have two session the following week without extra cost to make up for the absence, provided they have not exceeded the monthly allowance. The PAYG rate will be applied for sessions exceeding the monthly allowance of classes. For Juniors exceeding the monthly allowance, the excess session rate is £10 / session.

  • All payments are collected using GoCardless, monthly memberships as a standard direct debit, and one-off payments as needed, taken every Wednesday. The set-up of the direct debit will be completed before or at a student's first class (excluding Introductory Courses and Classes), using this link (click here). By agreeing to these terms, the student authorises Pentagon Krav Maga to take payments as needed. Be advised that, due to GoCardless’s systems, one-off payments may take up to two weeks to leave your account, and thus may coincide with routine monthly payments. This is outside of Pentagon Krav Maga’s control.

Additional Terms for Private Classes

  • Private classes, including times and locations, are arranged on a case-by-case basis via correspondence with the instructor. Prices for private sessions start at £50 / hour. The student may also block-book 4 hours for £160. Up to two (2) people may be taught in one private class.

  • A non-refundable 50% deposit is payable immediately upon booking a private class (£25 for a single session, £80 for a block-of-four); the session will not be confirmed until this deposit is received. The balance of the session will be taken after the session. In the case of a block-booking, each session will have a separate balance payment taken (£20 per).

  • No-shows will be liable for the full cost of the session. If the session is cancelled while the Instructor is traveling to said session, this will count as a no-show, so give notice as early as possible to avoid this eventuality.

  • Private sessions for more people, or that require significant travel for the instructor (more than 40 minutes drive from Desborough, Northants) will incur additional charges:

    • Additional participants are charged at £10 per person.

    • Travel time exceeding 40 minutes - excluding unexpected delays - will be charged at £10 per 10 minutes of additional one-way travel time. This may be waived in certain circumstances, such as when the instructor is already in the area on other business.

    • Any venue hire costs incurred by Pentagon Krav Maga will be passed onto the student, additional to the base fees given above.
